Clark Environmental, Inc. Named the Recipient of the George Harris, Jr. Award
The George Harris, Jr Award from the Central Florida Development Council recognizes excellence in the growth of free enterprise, community service, economic stability and quality growth. The company, headed by President Beth Clark, has been recognized by both Florida Trend magazine and Polk Works as one of the state’s best places to work. CFDC officials cited the industrial cleaning firm for investing in technology and employee training, as well as its involvement in community projects. Beth is a longtime board member of the CFDC and has served as our vice president of small business development. Today she serves on our executive committee as our treasurer.
To the layman, Clark Environmental is a dirt burner. To the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and to its customers, the business is the states only certified thermal treatment facility with a waste processing facility. Clark Environmental was green long before it was cool or easy to be green.
Beth and Jim Clark epitomize the leadership and compassion required for creating a family-owned business that is run in a family atmosphere. Clark Environmental’s 23 employees say their Mulberry company is a great place to work because the Clarks genuinely care about their family of workers and because there is a relaxed work setting to make theirs days productive and energized for innovative thinking. At the same time, the owners challenge employees to grow in their management skills, their understanding of environmental issues and technologies and to become more confident in their abilities.
Clark Environmental provides industrial cleaning, disposal and transportation services. The company's project teams are specialists in the environmental field and offer cost effective solutions for all types of hazardous and non-hazardous industrial material and waste problems.
